FLATLAND 2016

a square living in a two-dimensional world - a personal journey through time and space.

pointland, lineland, spaceland, thoughtland: dimensions as a mathematic concept but also as something spiritual and personal opened up room for exploration and experimentation both in a visual and a technical sense.

edwin a. abbot’s 19th century “mathematic fairytale” flatland served as inspiration for the collection. shapes are based on geometric forms used three dimensionally and flat in layers. photo collages clash with different kinds of fabrics, paint, prints and embroideries, that are graphic and geometric but also random and playful.
